The Turtle that Crossed the Road

Look what crossed my path the other day! I was driving along Long Pond Road, spotted this turtle, and took a photo. Do you know what kind of turtle it is?

Oh my goodness!!! What a find- I've seen many turtles in my life, but this is definitely a different looking one. I mean the head of the turtle almost looks like a snakes head- and the markings on the turtle are quite different from most turtles.

yes, eastern box turtle. We need to encourage these to the power lines as Nstar has told me they cant spray near the turtles habitat. They like grassy fields and love the mushrooms that are popping up now
