I used to live at a beach area (Lewes DE) years ago, and I remember the winters there very fondly. I'm always a little envious when I see your photos, because it reminds me of the days, long ago, when I, too, would walk to or along the beach on a cold winter day.
I never grew up around any sort of water source (lake, river, sea, ocean)and I could never understand why my husband missed living on the coast so much. Now I understand. There is a feeling of tranquility and quietness when I look through my balcony window and see the sea and the waves crashing.
