The beach at Newcomb Hollow was deserted late Friday afternoon except for a group of boys, tossing around a Frisbee. It occurred to me how fortunate those kids were to have such an amazing beach nearby with this year's configuration of wide sandy shores and sand bars.
I grew up in a city, Washington, DC, and played kickball on a side street. In France, our suburban street was full of neighborhood kids riding bikes or kicking a soccer ball. How cool is it to live close enough to the beach that it becomes your playground!
