I am missing Wellfleet already- Oysterfest seems like it was a year ago! Wish I were at the Bookstore having a dozen or so....

We love staying at these cottages in the summer, miss them from the moment we leave. Beautiful photograph. This is the closest to being there I can get until June!

This is the site of the original "Lemon Pie" cottages, brought from a Methodist camp by Lorenzo Dow Baker to be tourist accommodation. Why lemon pie? Because they were painted yellow, were narrow and had such peaked roofs that they resembled slices of pie. They were blown down in a hurricane.
