What's Happening this Weekend in Wellfleet?

Does Main Street look deserted? You're right. It does! But there's lots going on this weekend in Wellfleet ...

First off, an important event starts at 5:15 on Friday, Senior Center: Think Outside the Books - Imagining the Future of the Wellfleet Public Library. Put on your thinking cap and brainstorm on what our library can be in the future. Sky Fress-Cole will lead the conversation from 6 to 8:30. RSVP to the library if you plan to attend.

On Saturday, plan to enjoy a pancake breakfast at Harrigan's (Wellfleet Lodge), from 8 to 11, benefiting the Wellfleet Elementary School.

At 11 a.m. Saturday, Cape Cool is organizing a walk from Town Hall to Long Pond Bridge. Stand with your neighbors and people worldwide. It's time to Connect the Dots between climate change and extreme weather.

At 5 pm, listen to Jazz with Jane Miller at Prez. Hall. $15, free for kids under 11.

On Saturday evening, Paula Erickson will host a one-night-only variety show featuring music, dance, film, poetry and performances by former Wellfleet Cultural Council grant recipients, including music by Jennifer Stratton, Denya Levine, Dinah Mellin, and Brenda Rogers, Katie Hickey and Jim Rohrer, Harriet Korim and Rick Arnoldi. Melissa Nussbaum will perform an original work "Marilyn Monroe, Communist" directed by David Drake. The Wellfleet Recycling Committee will preview a new PSA film directed by Jefferson Thomas. Peter Frawley will read his poetry, the Cape Rep Playback Theatre will do some improv. Finally, the Cape Cod African Dance and Drum will provide the evening with an upbeat ending. Tickets are $12. Starts at 7 p.m.

Sunday, Outer Cape Health Services is hosting a farewell reception at Preservation Hall for Dr. Millhofer, starts at 2 p.m.
