Cape Drug Problem Makes the New York Times
While lifeguards patrol our beaches, who is watching our homes? Apparently, the police force on Cape Cod is hardly up to the challenge presented by drugs and drug dealers. A reader alerted me to this article about drug crime on Cape Cod. (Thanks, Sharyn!) While I had heard the problem of drugs does exist within the shellfishing community of Wellfleet, I had no idea drugs were also driving so many break-ins elsewhere. The reporter specifically mentions Dennis, with a winter population of 17,000 that swells to 75,000 in summer. Best to remain vigilant. The break-ins involve not only homes but parked cars.
