Imaging a Beach & Restaurant Discounts

I awoke this morning to the pleasant sound of raindrops on the roof. The weather forecast had already squelched any nascent plans for a weekend getaway in the minds of Bostonians, leaving our Green Room empty, along with numerous other rooms across Cape Cod. Still, the rain felt welcome because the soil in our garden had become so dry. May flowers will be popping up before long. Our return guests, in the cottage, also have a garden, so they, too, welcomed the rain, determined not to let it spoil their three-night mini-vacation. With the cloudy weather, it seems fitting to remember how extraordinary Wellfleet is once the sun comes out by imaging the beach at low tide, seen from the Marconi lookout above. Any Wellfleet beach will do, for that matter, when it comes to imaging. Our guests were delighted when I told them about the great dinner specials, offered by our restaurants in time of crisis: Wicked Oyster offers a four-course dinner Thursdays, Sundays, and Mondays for $20. Finely JPs counters with the same for $19, available to anyone arriving between 5 and 6 Thursday through Sunday, and entrees only $14 on Thursdays. Live on the Cape? Local diners can make their dining-out experience count this month: Finely JP's will be donating a portion of Thursday receipts to Preservation Hall. Moby Dick’s supports Outer Cape Health and, during the month of May, will donate a portion of its Tuesday earnings to this worthy organization.
