Wellfleetian Sells Organic Wine & Beer in Hyannis

Last week I traveled to Hyannis to see an ear specialist. Having reached the neighborhood near the hospital early, I stopped in a shop to buy wine and was surprised to discover it belongs to a Wellfleetian named Alan O’Campbell. Grain and Vine Spirit Shoppe is located on Route 28, near the intersection with Willow Street. On the right, I noticed many different types of beer, a wide selection that my son-in-law would really appreciate. On the left, the wine was organized by country. Colorful descriptions stimulated the brain as well as the palate. What struck me was the number of organic options. I chose an organic Cabernet Sauvignon from Chile. At the counter, I started chatting about the Boeuf Bourguignon I planned to make with a Julia Child recipe and mentioned the B&B. That’s when Alan said he lives in Wellfleet, too, and travels down Cape every day for work. Anyone, who is in Hyannis, would do well to stop in and say hello …

As I am always amazed- the world is a small place and no matter where we go- we bump into people who we have connections (in one form or another) to.

What a pleasant meeting.

I noticed this when we were driving around Hyannis over Memorial Day - it looked like a lovely place! I'll tell my other on-Cape friends to check it out.
