What's Happening in Wellfleet?

Today the Pilgrim Monument in Provincetown is the focus of attention as 100 years have now passed since its erection, commemorating the arrival of the Pilgrims in the new world.

There are so very many things going on as we approach the weekend that I thought a list might be appropriate. Please feel free to add more events that need publicity in the comments section.

1.) Yard sale to benefit Caleb Potter, from 8 to 5 on Saturday. Come early. Park at Long Pond. Help Sharyn buy a van to get Caleb and a few others with brain injury to fun activities like bowling. (Several kayaks, for sale, among other things.)
2.) Castle Hill (Truro) has one of its main fundraisers this weekend: silent auction of artworks.
3.) The New England premiere of “Vibrator” at WHAT tonight is already sold out. Buy tickets now for this weekend.
4.) Sunday, August 8 from 3 to 7, Sandpiper Gallery is holding its 9th annual Alzheimer’s Services of Cape Cod & the Islands Reception and Auction at Sweet Seasons Restaurant, 70 Main. Free shuttle from the pier.
5.) Sunday is also the date for the second 2010 Book Sale at Town Hall parking lot 9 to 1, organized by Friends of the Wellfleet Libraries.
6.) Sunday morning, the bikers race through Wellfleet towards P-town to benefit cancer research at Dana Farber in Boston.
7.) All weekend PB Boulangerie Bistro will have a specialized guest chef demonstrating miraculous stuff with virgin olive oil.
7.) August 11 at 8 pm, Marge Piercy will read her poems to benefit Preservation Hall at the Methodist Church.
